CONVICTED OF FRAUD
MEMPHIS, Tenn., Oct 14. -- J. C. McDonald of McKimp, Okla., and E. L. Hendry of Lonoke, Ark., were found guilty in the United States district court here today on five counts charging conspiracy to defraud through the use of the mails in connection with the operation of the short lived American Trust company of Memphis, of which McDonald was president and Hendry a director. E. R. Odle of Chicago, and O. E. Helton of Shattuck, Okla., indicted jointly with McDonald and Hendry, were accuited.

Major F. J. Bell Sustains Injuries When Coach Topples From Trestle
ELSINORE, Cal., March 5 -- Derailed today at a junction crossing, two miles from here, the rear coach of a mixed train on a Santa Fe branch line broke its coupling and tumbled off a trestle twenty feet into the San Jacinto river. One passenger was killed and the conductor was fatally injured.
   Twelve other passengers, men and women, were more or less seriously hurt, including Major F. J. Bell of Goldfield, Nev., and J. S. Hendry of New York. The San Jacinto river is little more than a dry bed and the victims of the accident were in no danger of drowning . . .

INJURED SOLDIER AWARDED $350,000
7nbsp;   LAS VEGAS (UPI) - Pfc Billy Joe Hendry has been awarded $350,000 for injuries suffered during war games on the desert near here in 1964, it was learned Monday.
    It was one of the largest personal injury suit settlements in Nevada.
    Hendry suffered severe electric shock and burns during "Operation Desert Strike" when his back-pack radio antenna touched a 69,000 volt power line.
    Hendry's legs were amputated below the knees as a result of the severe burns.
    Hendry brought the suit against California Pacific Utility Co.

GLAD YOU'RE HOME Lois Crocker...Yep... Len's wife, Lois... the former Capt. Hendry. She's not a maj... has returned from special duty in Washington where she was assigned to the Protocol office of Sixth Army ROTC Summer Camp. Lois is sorely missed by her new bridegroom... Can't say I blame him... two months is too doggoned long to be separated from a new bride.
