Micajah Hendry, Moses Hendry and Others
Micajah Hendry [Parents] was born on 4 May 1765 in Orange Co ? NC. He died on 17 Feb 1838 in Hazelhurst,Copiah Co,MS. He married Lydia Moarlin before 1789 in NC.
This is a compilation of the work of several researchers most of whom are on the Hendry List. Another source claims Micajah born in Dec. Both are shown in Chatham Co NC census for 1790. 1790-1803 removed to Lincoln Co GA (adjacent SC); LAND: 1825/04/29 160 acres (Chocktaw land office), Miss. War: Alner WILKS.
When Rebecca married in 1812, Micajah claimed he was from Amite, MS. 1826, he removed to Copiah Co MS.
His line settled in Hazelhurst, Copiah Co MS. - rhgPossible additional child, Elizabeth, who married Joseph MATHER 21 Jan 1835 in Adams MS. - rhg
Found Micajah Henry in the Augusta GA Road Tax List 1798-1799 - only 1 free male is stated; NONE from 16 to 50 yrs (so it can't be Micajah Jr.) - no male slaves 16-50 yrs. - rhg
Lydia Moarlin [Parents] was born on 30 Jul 1769. She died before 1820. She married Micajah Hendry before 1789 in NC.
No females are noted in the 1820 census, Rich Land Creek, Feliciana LA. Micajah is shown with 15 males. No females.
They live next door to Michael Blocker, a son-in-law. We are *assuming* that all the girls are married and wife, Lydia, has passed away. - rhgThey had the following children:

Micajah B. Hendry [Parents] was born on 11 Jan 1803 in Lincoln Co GA. He died after 1850. He married Sarah Hilbren on 22 Dec 1826 in Copiah Co MS.
A gunsmith; purchased land 1840/12/10 40 acres Washington Co MS; War: Frederick HILBUN; 1841/05/25 40 Acres Washington Co MS, War: James PHILLIPS.
1850, Micajah is shown in the Copiah Co MS census; with wife, Mary Ann, and children: the five shown and confirming dates. Living WITH them is John HILBURN, aged 50, blind, b. NC; George, age 17, laborer b. MS; John, 13, b. MS; and Martha, 11, b. MS.
Living next door are MORE HILBURNs. Frederick, 74 Farmer b. NC; Anna, 60, b. NC; Caroline, 17, b. MS; Margaret, 18, b. MS; Eliza, 16, b. MS; Fred, 8, b. MS; Panzaide, 6, b. MS; and Amelia, 1, b. MS. rhg
Sarah Hilbren was born about 1802. She married Micajah B. Hendry on 22 Dec 1826 in Copiah Co MS.
She is shown as head of household in the 1850
census, Copiah Co MS. Micajah is no longer
recorded. We assume he died between the last
land deal in MS by Micajah (1841) and 1850.
She continues to be found in the census through
1870 (most current census in our library) so we
assume she lived to at least 1870 - where they
finally name the township - Hazelhurst P. O. - rhgThey had the following children:

Charles Jackson Hendry [Parents] was born on 21 Jan 1808 in GA. He married Mary Ann Carter.
Listed as a chairmaker in 1850 census; aged 42. Shows Charles being born in GA; Mary Ann b. in NC... and all the children b. Miss. 1840 census for Copiah Co MS. next to his father, Micajah B.; same for 1841.
Mary Ann Carter was born about 1810 in NC (per census data). She married Charles Jackson Hendry.
Laney found: Edmund and Thomas Carter patented
land in early Copiah Co MS; nothing to establilsh a
