James Hendry, born 1868,
in Fraserburg, Scotland; left his native land and ventured to Sweden in 1889. He was armed with only his knowledge of commercial fishing, specializing in herring. He prospered and grew a Swedish family who still live there.The chart, to the right, shows James (mid, far right) and his ancestors hailing from Aberdeen. We've only been able to trace back to John Hendry and his son, George - both "of" Abderdeenshire.
