James B. Hendry b. ~1810 Mississippi
I2b1 / LineageJames B. and wife, Ritty, removed to Texas with a large family which included seven sons. Liberty Co TX was the first to be called home, but soon after, they settled in neighboring Corrigan, Polk Co TX. Many of his descendants still live in Corrigan today.Knowing that this Hendry line falls into the I2b1 haplogroup doesn't give a name to James B.'s father, but what it does is eliminate other Hendry lines with a different haplogroup (i.e. J2 and R1b1). So, we know, for sure that James' father was not one of the Hendrys from Arran, Scotland who came to N.C. shores in the 1700s. We know that James' line did not come from the oldest Hendry line who landed at Virginia in 1635. That narrows down the suspects substantially! It will be even more interesting as other Hendry lines gain results from their DNA donors - to narrow down the possibilities even more.
