Many have become DNA donors - and their RESULTS - and MATCHES - have made this very exciting! Robert Hendry and Ann Lee came to the US from Isle of Arran in the 1770's; Alexander Hendry and Flora Sellars sailed here from Arran a full generation before. Once and for all, we can learn just how close a relationship they had... or not. And, how about William "Tailor Billy" Henry? Where DID he come from? And was he a HenDry? And... how about Moses Henry?... and Micajah Hendry? Or, the William Henry of Knob's Hill, NC? DNA can answer most, if not all, of these questions. The HENRY DNA Project has been working hard for several years and has amassed quite a collection of DNA results. Recently, a very exciting MATCH was made... to the HENDRY's. We cannot take credit for ANY of this - others took up the cause. And, we are thrilled that they did so. The HENRY DNA Project will take care of the DNA part; we shall concentrate on expanding and documenting those lineages. When you go to the HENRY DNA Project Site: look for R1b1b2 / Group 7A The matching Hendry line was that of Alexander Hendry and Thankful Cromartie in N.C. during the 1700s. We now feel confident that we know the DNA of the patriarch / progenitor of one of the largest Hendry branches known to us. Fortunately, this line has been heavily documented. The expanded lineage (and all documentation) is going online, so others can share, append, etc.. As new DNA matches are found, we shall expand those lineages, as well. The more DNA matches - the more evident as to which lines connect... or not.
Lineage focusing on the 1st DNA match: DNA results for HENDRY: R1b1b2 / Group 7A, Alexander Hendry and Thankful Cromartie about DNA tests, ORDERING, etc. Colonial North Carolina was a "hub" of Henry/Hendrys -- immigrants, yes; but, there were others (originally settling in northern states) who entered N.C. for various reasons, including war. This makes N.C. a perfect "laboratory" to find Truth. Initially, we shall be covering ALL HenryHendry lines within N.C. We shall add ANY Henry/Hendry lines -- anywhere -- as matches occur.
